TBR1, also named as T-box brain protein 1, TBR1 is expressed in the brain and as a transcriptional regulator is involved in developmental processes. TBR1 is required for normal brain development.In mouse, the ortholog of this gene is expressed in the cerebral cortex, hippocampus, amygdala and olfactory bulb and is thought to play an important role in neuronal migration and axonal projection.
