Frizzled class receptor 7 (Frizzled 7, also known as FZD7) is a member of the superfamily of G protein coupled receptor proteins that act as receptors in the Wnt signaling pathway. Most curled receptors are coupled with the typical β - catenin signaling pathway, which leads to activation of chromoproteins, inhibition of GSK-3 kinase, nuclear accumulation of β - catenin, and activation of Wnt target genes. Frizzled 7 plays a role in development, stem cell renewal, and differentiation, and is associated with the progression of various cancers. In tissue morphogenesis and/or differentiation, it may participate in the transduction of polarity information and intercellular transmission.
