NGFRAP1 may be a signaling adapter molecule for NGF induced NGFR/P75NTR mediated cell apoptosis. Plays a role in zinc triggered neuronal death. In the absence of reducing stress, as a pseudo substrate of CRL2 (FEM1B) complex, it is associated with FEM1B through zinc, thereby preventing the association between FEM1B and its substrate.
