CCR6， Also known as CD196, it is a member of the beta chemokine receptor family, similar to G protein coupled receptors. This receptor is expressed in most subsets of B cells, memory T cells, and dendritic cells. CCR6 is a specific receptor for the C-C chemokine CCL20, which binds to CCL20 and transmits signals by increasing intracellular calcium ion concentration. The ligand receptor combination CCL20-CCR6 is responsible for mediating chemotaxis of immature dendritic cells, effector/memory T cells, and B cells, and plays a critical role in skin and mucosal surfaces under steady-state and inflammatory conditions, as well as pathological processes including cancer and rheumatoid arthritis. CCR6 actively regulates sperm motility and chemotaxis by binding to CCL20. Although CCL20 is its main ligand, CCR6 can also serve as a receptor for non chemokine ligands such as beta blockers. The signal transduction mediated by CCR6 is crucial for the immune response of intestinal mucosa to microorganisms, as well as the regulation of inflammatory responses caused by tissue damage and trauma.
