T-cell Leukemia/Lymphoma Protein 1A (TCL-1A), also known as p14TCL1 is a product of the TCL1 gene that is involved in T-cell prolymphocytic leukemia (T-PLL). TCL-1A is a member of a unique family of beta barrel proteins that bind small hydrophobic ligands and function in cell regulation. Furthermore, functional analysis indicates that the interaction between TCL-1A and Akt promotes translocation of Akt to the nucleus. These findings are supported by the crystal structure of TCL-1A, which suggests that TCL-1A may participate in molecular transport .
