PDIA3, also known as P58, ERp57, ERp60, is a member of the PDI family. This gene encodes an endoplasmic reticulum protein, which interacts with lectin chaperones calcium reticulin and calcium junction protein to regulate the folding of newly synthesized glycoproteins. PDIA3 exhibits protein disulfide isomerase activity. It participates in the oxidation, reduction, and isomerization of disulfide bonds, and is involved in the modification and transport of the endoplasmic reticulum before the secreted protein folds correctly. It is also associated with cell apoptosis or inhibition of cancer cell growth.
