UQCRC1 (mitochondrial cytochrome b-c1 complex subunit 1), also known as QCR1 and UQCR1, is a component of the ubiquinone cytochrome c reductase complex (complex III or cytochrome b-c1 complex). It is part of the mitochondrial respiratory chain and may mediate the formation of complexes between cytochrome c and c1. This protein endows ubiquitin ligase with binding activity. UQCRC1 is associated with Alzheimer's disease and is a biomarker for Alzheimer's disease.
