NSUN2， Also known as SAKI or Misu (Myc induced SUN domain containing protein), it is an RNA cytosine C (5) - methyltransferase that methylates cytosine to 5-methylcytosine (m5C) in various RNAs, such as tRNA, mRNAs, and some long non coding RNAs (lncRNAs). NSUN2 is involved in various processes during early development, such as epidermal stem cell differentiation, testicular differentiation, and the transition from mother to zygote. It may act downstream of Myc, regulating the growth and proliferation of epidermal cells.
